1. Write something great about your niche and email other bloggers to let them know – there’s a good chance they’ll link to you
2. Have a signature link in forums that points to your site

But i don't recommand to buy links, Google hate that, i don't recommand to post to a thousand irectories too because most of directories are a sand sites and your domains risk to get banned from Google.

Promoting offline is not that effective. Because your friends will just use the site for themselves, you need a visitor which can invite another visitor. Sometimes our friends just under rated our website.

one more idea that i judge very succeful in prromoting site is to make a contest.
If you have money, the best way to spend it is likely to create a contest or something like that. Imagine how many members you will get if you are organizing a contest to win an iPod for example

you can't just starting advertise your sites by creating some community or other thing's in social networking sites,coco cola would have purchased some ad space from face book.
i was going to start promoting some sites in social networking sites like orkut,but my friend told that they will ban your account if you do so also without notice.and if they ban me it will be very bad bcoz i have many friends included.

Whether it's an ebook, audio, video, and offer interesting information sought by the people you're targeting for download on your site or blog. Then, simply write an article mentioning this event and publish it on diggs-likes for example.

the golden rule to attract traffic to your site

These exchanges banners do not bring you a lot of people. The people you will attract will not be more qualified. Glad you have 50 people who often come and participate, that 1000 people who are just passing.

To increase your traffic should already think about not losing one you managed to attract. To my taste too many commercials, it scares away visitors. Think before going to attract money.

I guess "promoting your site using your signature in forums" is a great way, since I always click others signature to check their blogs / sites etc...
Of course u need an attractive title that can catch others' attention, such as "Get $5 in 1 day time". I am sure many people will gonna to click your link, lolz~

I am interested with purchase advertising at aurora site since it is so cheap and the result is not bad, at least it can increase traffic for my blog/ site, put link in signature is a good way also but you must have much active at much section

ofcourse in aurora PTC sites the advertising prices is very very less...like about $0.50 for 1000 views but there won't be much members in such sites due to low click rates so it takes some time to get expired the 1000 views and the same member will be viewing it daily,it may be good to for getting traffic but not to get more members to your site..
